It's official. I'm creating a blog. One that someone else might actually find interesting. Hard to believe, right?
Well, here it goes. I'm not going to promise profound thoughts and ideas. I'm not going to promise insightful reviews of big news stories.
I'm going to write about whatever interests me that day.
That being said, reader(s) should understand that I am a very opinionated person. Anything I say or do cannot be used against me in a court of your feelings. If you have a different opinion, let me know. I love to argue. Just don't get personally offended when I say I think Miley Cyrus has (had, really) more meaningful tweets than the White House or that Hanson makes better music than any of the crappy bands/artists played on the radio 20 times a day.
Before I post anything, I should explain my "world view." (Yes, I just used a vocab word from my political communication class!)
1. I was born and raised in a small town in Alabama that even people from Alabama haven't heard of. Well, they haven't heard of it unless they know about a certain high school basketball throw-down that was in the news earlier this year. We're famous(not really, but you get the point) for towels, proximity to the Chattahoochee River, and being "that town on I-85 right before you get into Georgia." Still don't know? Oh well.
2. I went to a private school for 10 years, then transferred to public school because I was tired of people being fake. The truth: people are fake everywhere. What I learned: Living life in a bubble doesn't cultivate knowledge-- it keeps you from growing.
3. My family moved to Orlando, Florida, four days after my high school graduation. My father insisted on living near golf pros and I wasn't too unhappy about living so close to Disney World, Universal Studios and Margaritaville. Although I consider my house there to be my vacation home, I love being there and I wish I had the opportunities my 13-year-old sister has living in such a culture-rich place.
I should also mention under this number that I'm obsessed with Disney Channel. I would love more than anything to go to the movies with Miley and Demi. Or have Taylor Swift tweet me.
4. I go to the University of Alabama. I love the Crimson Tide. But... I grew up an Auburn fan. Yes, Tide fans. I WANT Auburn to win...when they're not playing us. I'd also love to hate Florida, but I can't as long as Tebow is there. Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU... I don't like you at all. Mississippi State: As awkward as "MAROOOOON" sounds when it's yelled in your stadium, it's fun. However, the cowbells have got to go.
5. I'm Team Jacob. 200 percent. If that's possible. Twilight fans know what this means. The rest of you...just read the books.
That's all for today. It's too much, I know. But, I've got to start somewhere. Start big, or go home.
